Use MT5 when your broker or prop environment issues MetaTrader 5 accounts. DaneTrades connects those accounts into the same cloud copier used for other supported platforms. You still set master and receiver roles per connection rather than assuming one global profile for every account.

Help Centre recommends the API path when you want no terminal requirement and no EA installation. The EA alternative for MT5 mirrors the MetaTrader workflow: install and attach the EA, keep the terminal open, enable Algo Trading, and allow WebRequest to http://127.0.0.1. Plan on one MetaTrader terminal per connected EA account.
Per-connection control
Sizing and mapping for unequal MT5 balances
Funded, evaluation and personal MT5 accounts often do not share the same balance. Connection-level sizing modes in Help include Balance Multiplier, Lot Multiplier, Fixed Lots, Risk % and Risk $. Symbol Mapping covers broker suffix and naming differences so the receiver opens the intended MT5 instrument.
Safe mode and disable
Safe mode can block new opens. Disabling a connection pauses that link. Existing receiver positions remain your responsibility unless another setting manages them.

Known EA limitations
MT5 terminal health still matters on the EA path
Algo Trading off, EA removed from the chart, missing WebRequest allow-list entries, a closed terminal, or session logout can stop EA-based copying. Review the disconnected checklist before escalating.
